This is the privacy policy for Travel & Trip With Me — a small personal hobby blog about days out by rail. In short: the site stores nothing about you, sets no cookies for the public, runs no advertising, and offers no public sign-up or submission of any kind. For liability and “use at your own risk” terms, see the Terms of Use & Disclaimer.
What this privacy policy covers
This privacy policy is for you — the visitor reading these pages. In short, the site stores nothing about you. Therefore, the policy is brief.
You can read every page on this site without giving any data. There is no sign-up, no registration, no comments, no contact form, no newsletter, no trip submission form, no chat, and no public way for you to send anything to the site. As a result, the site has no way to collect personal data about you, and it does not. Furthermore, there is no Google Analytics, no Facebook tracking pixel, no advertising tracker, no affiliate tracking, and no third-party analytics product.
The only data that touches the site when you visit is your IP address, which the hosting provider (IONOS) records in a short-lived access log for security and abuse prevention only. However, the site owner does not analyse those logs.
Cookies under this privacy policy
The site sets no cookies for public visitors. Therefore, you can browse the entire site without storing anything in your browser. The site sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no third-party tracking cookies for anyone.
Third-party services that load on the site
Trip detail pages embed maps and walking routes from these third parties. As a result, when you open a trip page, your browser contacts these services directly:
- OpenStreetMap and OpenTopoMap serve the map tiles. Your browser sends your IP address to their servers when a tile loads.
- OSRM calculates walking routes. Your browser sends the route’s coordinates to their server.
- Open-Meteo may serve weather. Your browser sends a latitude and longitude for the trip.
Each third party has its own privacy policy. Furthermore, the site uses them in their public, non-personalised form — no account, no key tied to you.
Your rights under this privacy policy
Since the site stores nothing about you as a public visitor, there is no personal data of yours on this site to access, correct, or delete. Therefore, no data subject request to this site is necessary.
Children
The site is read-only for the public and stores nothing about anyone. As a result, no child under 13 — and no adult — can submit information through the public site.
Security
The site protects itself with HTTPS for all traffic. Furthermore, the site has no public registration or comments, which keeps the door closed to bots and unwanted submissions.
Changes to this privacy policy
If anything material changes — for example, the site adds a new third-party service or hosting provider — the site owner will update this privacy policy and change the date at the top of the page.
Complaints about this privacy policy
If a UK GDPR concern is not resolved, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). For trip safety and liability terms, see the Terms of Use & Disclaimer.
